New Ways to Love Your Laundry and Delight Your Senses

New Ways to Love Your Laundry and Delight Your Senses
Clean. Fold. Put away. And next week do it all again. Laundry holds a permanent place on many people's to-do lists. So why not make it a joy? Check out ways to revel in the sensory experience and make laundry a pure pleasure!
Discover creative ways you can delight all five of your senses — and enhance your laundry routine.

Scent

The new Bounce® Dryer Bar raises the bar on convenience with an altogether new way to Bounce. Scientists at P&G found a way to compact freshness and static control into one bar. That means no more forgetting your Bounce. Delight your sense of smell with two Bounce Dryer Bar scents, Outdoor Fresh and Fresh Line. Here's how the Bounce Dryer Bar works:
  • Remove paper backing.
  • Press the bar firmly onto a smooth part of the dryer drum. Loads are freshened automatically.
  • Replace after about two or four months, depending on frequency of use and dryer settings. A replacement indicator will appear letting you know when it's time for a new one.

Sight
  • Consider adding clean, crisp lighting to your laundry room to delight your sense of sight. Try a simple table lamp with a brightly colored shade.
  • Hang artwork in your laundry room that makes you happy, recommends Mary Leverette, educator and laundry maven. "Displaying photographs of your last vacation or your kids' drawings will help make your laundry routine go more quickly," she says.

Touch
  • Embrace the sensory nature of laundry. As you fold, take time to feel the softness of towels, the texture of linens or the smoothness of cottons.

Taste
  • Try moving a small fridge into your laundry room to satisfy your sense of taste, recommends Leverette. "It can hold soft drinks or snacks that will help make laundry time more enjoyable. Perhaps a stash of chocolate to entice others to help."

Sound
  • Move a small radio or TV into your laundry room. It'll make the time go by faster, and you can catch up on your favorite TV shows or music.
