What Should You Eat to Stay Healthy From the Inside Out?
Glowing skin, sparkling eyes and a healthy smile aren't all gifts from the gene pool. Looking and feeling good begins with the foods you eat every day. Try incorporating a few of these hidden "hero" nutrients and foods to care for your body from the inside out!
Sweet Potatoes

A sweet source of nutrition, sweet potatoes have healing properties from their high amounts of antioxidants and vitamins. They have been shown to help reduce the severity of osteoarthritis and asthma and help prevent diabetic heart disease and colon cancer. What you get: Beta-carotene, vitamin C, manganese (which helps blood break down amino acids and produce energy) and dietary fiber

Vitamin B6

This vitamin helps break down amino acids for new cell formation and reduces the risk of coronary heart disease. A lack of vitamin B6 can lead to fatigue, eczema and even seizures.

Where you can find it: Yellowfin tuna, bananas, cod, salmon and sweet potatoes

Alliums

You know ... garlic, leeks and onions! The smelly sulfur compound in garlic helps reduce the risk of heart disease and sustain healthy vision. Onions and leeks can lower bad cholesterol levels and raise the good HDL cholesterol levels for better heart health.

What you get: Vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin B6, selenium (an essential dietary mineral that helps activate antioxidants), manganese and chromium (a mineral that can help improve glucose tolerance and lower insulin levels)

Omega-3s
