Expert Beauty Tips to Update Your Look

Fresh Outlook

Fashion has turned romantic this spring. Ladylike jackets, feminine dresses and sweet sherbet shades, by their very nature, call for a softer approach to makeup. If you're looking for a new way to face the season, try these tips from CoverGirl® makeup artist B.J. Gillian.

Eye do: According to Gillian, popular makeup colors now are soft, peachy-pink tones. To update your eye makeup, apply a shadow in this shade (try Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadow in Meringue Blush) from the lash line up to your brow, then use a gentle touch to continue an arch of color from the outer edge of your brow-bone to the top of your cheekbone. Next, use a soft shade of eye pencil to line the top lashes. Avoid dark colors, like black or brown, and go for something more subtle, for example, EyeSlicks in Midnight Metal. Follow up with mascara (such as Fantastic Lash Mascara in Very Black) to create lush lashes.

Cheeky idea: Gillian suggests a fresh color for cheeks (for example, Cheekers Blush in Pretty Peach), applied to the cheekbone and blended back toward the hairline.

Lip service: This spring, lips are pretty in pink. Gillian's favorite shades: Outlast All-Day Lipcolor in Pink Pearl or Always Rosy.
